In this episode we discuss a question that a lot of people and clients have asked us: “How do I stay motivated?” 

Today, we talk about the role motivation plays in health and fitness. We’ve talked about adhering to a fitness routine in the past. In this episode, we are getting much deeper into the topic. We talk about what motivation is and how it’s the catalyst that gets us started and keeps us going to achieve our fitness goals. 

There are two different forms of motivation we discuss: extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is important, because that’s the initial push to get you to start a new habit and workout routine. Intrinsic motivation is the deeper motivation that sets in over a time that makes you feel like your life is better in an overall way because of the habit you’ve created. 

We also talk about the benefits of motivation, and how discipline helps to create a solid routine about whatever goal you’re trying to achieve. Then we go over our “four pillars” that keep your fitness motivation strong for the long term.
